I am NOT a Britney Spears fan by far. However, I am not impressed by the this project, at all. I think it is a sweeping generalization to blame what's wrong with America on Britney Spears. She did not create the demand, it already existed. I think instead of wasting time defacing posters and costing the MTA (and ultimately MY tax dollars) clean up crew time and money to clean up the posters, try making more of an effort to contribute in your community. Can we examine that Elvis was an abusive drug addict? Let's try attacking the real problem of social reform and lack of correct parenting for youth than to draw Hitler-esque images on Britney. To even compare or make any connection between her and Hitler is absolutely revolting and uneducated, and honestly, pathetic. IP: Logged |

I think the britney spears project is certainly a provocative one. I was intrigued by the whole thing. there are so many mixed messages in american culture and britney spears certainly epitomizes that. the music instustries standards are lowered with each passing minute. We are a culture that has continued to choose "image" over "substance". at this point i am all "Britneyed out" but it is an interesting project. much better than the latest issue of rolling stone. sorry, miss B . . . you come on as america's sweetheart - but the next thing we know, you've bought yourself some nice big breasts, you're dancing around licking your lips and falling out of your clothes and acting not a lot different than a two-bit whore - you gotta assume some people aren't going to like that. if you could sing, it might help.IP: Logged |

Yeah, she might not be little sweet, innocent Britney anymore, but the girl has to grow. It's not all britney's responsiblitly on how little 6 year olds act and dress. It's their parents job. And if there is a problem with their children watching Britney, then just forbid them from doing so. Britney is not the cause of these national problems. It's either the lack of discipline from guardians or some serious mental problem.IP: Logged |

I have heard many, even Briteny her self, say that she is not a role model, and it is the job of the parents to tell their kids right from wrong. However, this people apparently forgot how it is to be a 9 year old kid! If your parents told you to clean your room some time soon, you, as a nine year old, will probably piss and moan and never get around to it. But if the Backstreet Boys, Briteny, New Kids on the Block, Elvis or any famous person past or present told you to clean your entire house in 10 minuets, it would be done in 5. No child would listen to their parents over a star. So when I hear these lies about it being the parents fault that their kids like Briteny and want to feel themselves up and dress like a hooker at the age of 9, I get a little upset. And I want those that say that stuff to think back on when they were a impressionable child and then listen to their own advice.IP: Logged |

When looking at these photos of Britney, I was appalled and I was kind laughing. In some ways, I think Brit-Brit got what was coming to her. She prances around, pretending to be a virgin, saying that she is sweet, but deep down the entire USA realizes she is neither one of those two words. In another way, I was appalled to see that those taggers drew Hitler's moustache on her face. We knew the power he had on the Germans, Britney doesn't have that entire effect on America(mainly because she has lost some people's respect). I also believe that this media hype wasn't caused by September 11, though it did have an effect, I think that because we were upset, we finally told that little "virgin" what we all really think of her.IP: Logged |

Ever since the attack on September 11, everyone everywhere has been saying it has brought us all together, and everyone has chaged for the better. Now you all on the streets of New York are blaming Britney for whats wrong with America. America has had problems like these since before Britney was even around. She has even said it herself, "...I am not a role model..." And shouldnt the parents be the ones to decide weather there children are exposed to Brintey? They act like it is out of their hands or somthing, which to me is very immature. What i dont understand is why everyone only looks down on Britney Spears. Look at all the other pop singers, like Christina Aguleria. How is she any better? You all need to just face the facts, and realize that the world is gonna always have it's problems, so there is no need to start blaming them on Britney. IP: Logged |

Here are some comments that came to Mr. Beller's Neighborhood through the "contact us" button, when the "Talk," feature temporarily broke:** I think thats wrong to what yall are doing. If you dont have anything nice to say then dont say anything. Britney is young and beautiful and shes in that stage where she can wear wants to wear and i dont have a problem with. I too use the tight outfits but that doesnt say Im a whore. And I m one of Britneys biggest fans and if she were to see what yall wrote shed probly think what a bunch immature bastards. MICHELLE LOPEZ, TX. ** Britney Spears makes me sick on one hand. On the other hand she is gorgeous...but there is a difference in pretty girls who don't know they are pretty and pretty girls who do and flaunt it. No one is perfect I have no problem with her cussing..I do sometimes. Overall its her appearance...she looks like a hooker on Hollywood boulvd. I just want to know one thing....what do her parents think of how she is or how people these days are portraying her?? ** i'm florie from France. I really think the britney spears project is silly, i don't like her but she not the only one in america i guess who's blonde, popular and thin! Just find something else! Cya! ** I think Britney is great, but this project is incredibul good.I like the way you deface Britney.I think you shood put some other pictures. Not just one type.If you agree with me and if you want to contact me my e-mail adress is jelena556@yahoo.com. P.S.Hope you´re gona put this message on web.Bye... ** Hello, I have also been doing a project on the Brintney Spears posters. I figured someone else had the idea as well, and when my friend sent me the link to your site. Anyway...I would like to link from my site... http://britneyunderground.com to your site. Do you mind??? ** I think it is rude that you people make fun of her .....!!!!! I think she is cool!!!!! ** I'm anything I mean anything but a britney or those other stupid boy band & lil whore fan. I'm more of a rock or a metal fan, because they actually make their own music. They don't prounce around "dancing" to electronic sounds (such as their own voice). And their lyrics have meaning and don't always talk about people of the other sex. A person like britney spears is a poster child oh I mean poster adult for the ignorant people that rome around the world. I mean what type of freak sings to children about grownup issues? And people wonder what's wrong with America's youth one word BRITNEY. Her "clothing" and disgusting "dancing" frustrates me as well as makes me wanner throw up!!! fyi the way she always flaunting her flesh and (jell) breast is so typical of a person with out self respect. That & her "lyrics" shows that she has no regards for the minds of others (children mainly). Thank you for your time, I hope you make this public and I can only dream that she can read this. ** To complain about the quality of BS' music is moot. Pop music has always been vacuous. That's what it is for. However when BS drives around stage in a crayola colored car then emerges from a rain effect dampened in a bra that Cher threw out, it plays like the prologue to strip tease. Who is the intended audience?: the six year olds who color, or the maturing teens who can now hate their lesser bodies and less slutty moves? Does she care about who her conflicting messages reach? BS wouldn't know an ideology if she tripped over it on the way to the bank. Does it matter if she's an airhead? Why did the culture make her a success? Because adolescents want to be adults before they are, & before they have any mature ideas about what to do with adult freedoms. Teen girls dream of a slutty, busty future. ** IP: Logged |

The mass marketing of a teen idol requires proper assembly--lucious smile, juicy breasts, voiced enhanced through high tech and complimented by video dancers. It is this packaging that makes New Yorkers scream out in subways. There is a link to Osama's interpretation of the west. No, Brittany's not to blame, although she does represent the blonde bitch of capitalism. IP: Logged |

Can we stop blaming popstars like Britney for everything that is wrong in America? Turn around and look at yourself. Whoever defaced those posters certainly aren't helping our situation. Britney is growing up and she has the same right as everyone else to say and do whatever she feels like. Just because she's famous shouldn't make any difference. IP: Logged |

Okay am not a Britney fan and I think you will get that idea by reading this. I think that she deserves what shes getting. First of all look at the way she dresses! You should leave something to the imagination! Second She sits there and claims "I dont want to be a role model and where are their (little kids) parents?" Well hello! Wether you like it or not you are! And kids parents cant control their kids everymove. Some kids dont have parents! For all you know there is a little kid right now (at whatever time your reading this) listening to Britney's CD over a friends house and looking at her in a magizine with her wearing those skanky clothes saying or thinking "I wish I could be like her. I am going to go to the mall and buy clothes like that. And Im going to go on a diet" That kid probley ways 60 pounds! Her boobs hang out and her stomach is constantly showing. Can you say cover up? I will admit I like some of her songs like "Im not a girl not yet a woman" but I do not like her as a person. She needs to be setting an example to everyone on earth. She and Christina and most of the other female singing stars out there are PART of the reason a lot of guys only like girls who way 100 pounds or less (and dont even say your just saying it because you cant get a man since you weigh 200 pounds because I am 110 and I do have a boyfriend!) and who wear clothes where body parts, besides their arms and legs, hang out! I hate Britney Spears. I think that she is the worst role model for little kids, I don't care if she says that she is not a role model because little kids will look up to her if she likes it or not. I think it is funny what people are doing to her posters. She has brought it on herself look at the way she dresses she is a total skank, and there is no way in hell that she is a virgin. She says that she lives with him and walks around the house naked and yet she hasen't fucked him. Another time she sayed that she didn't want to get married for like 15 years and she actually thinks people will still think that she will wait until she is 30 something it till she finally fucks someone. I feel sorry for that little 6 year old who thinks that she has to look like Britney Spears. Britney Spears is what is wrong with the world. The stupid bitch can't even sing she has to lip sing at her concert and wear skanky little clothes to try and get people to focus more on her body than the fact that she can't sing, which has not fooled anyone. She is a fucking retard who should be bitched slapped and spit on. IP: Logged |

I think this project was great because it got people to wake up and see what's going on with our society & what kind of influence the music industry is having on us as well as how much the industry REALLY cares about others. How insensitive was that to put up those posters right after the 11th? And yes, according www.ym.com (January 3rd ) said the posters wrere put up. HOw senseless were the promoters, who OUGHT to have been checking out the scene, NOT ONLY FOR MONEY MAKING OPPORTUNITIES, but to call off these adds at such an inappropriate time? I've often heard Americans ask "why do they hate us so much?" Well have they ever thought that those oppressed EVERYDAY as a result of U.S. FOREIGN POLICY may be thinking of the same thing?
What am I talking about, you ask? Well ask the mother of the starving 5 year-old Iraqi kid why they would be upset at the U.S. GOVERNMENT ? I'll tell you why, because the food-for-oil program is NOT WORKING. Saddam Hussein is still in power, still has nuclear/biological weapons but the only thing that's changed is that Iraqi CIVILLIANS ARE BEING BOMBED IN THEIR OWN HOMES & STARVING AS A RESULT OF THE PROGRAM. Why is this still going on? Because people in general are so tuned into music and other entertainment. they don't have time to find out what goes in the world and TELL THE GOVERNMENT TO CHANGE POLICIES THAT DON'T WORK!
So if our homes are viciously attacked by madmen, then we have only OURSELVES to blame because we have the power to change what the government does. But that CANNOT happen unless we TURN OFF THE T.V. AND START READING ON WHY THIS HAPPENED & PREVENT IT FROM OCCURING AGAIN! IP: Logged |

some of those are just funny and some are just well... appalling. it's not right to blame britney for everything that's wrong-- but that's what we as humans enjoy doing. putting the blame on someone else just so that there is someone at fault. i am not a britney fan, but i do not go around calling her a slut-- although she would deserve to be called one. what i DO call her is two-faced. when she's on tv doing her interviews and specials, she's so sweet. you could even call her the girl next door that worked so so so so hard and got what she deserved because she's just so innocent and sweet. but when you look at her performance, which is just her freaking in unison with other people and making weird faces into her mic to sell that she's "singing"-- she's so provocative it's disgusting. yes, yes... its not her job to babysit the children of america, yet she should take time to understand that she has a ridiculously powerful influence on young girls and women. and what disgusts me about that is she has no regards whatsoever by claiming she's not a role model and does not want to be one; ALTHOUGH she tries to sprinkle the sugar on and encourage children to reach their dreams and create a camp where their talent can "grow." I like britney spears music, and somtimes i do disagree with her clothing yes....however im forced to ask myself if i was in her position wouled I dress the way she does. I mean she is a performer and she dresses flashy on stage to give a dramatic effect to the show. But if you notice she doesn't dress that way everyday on the street, shopping, or just hanging out. However the fact that she is a pop star could be brought up. Her style of music appeals to younger children and younger children are most affected by these images on T.V. She needs to realize how she is affected the youth of america and there morals. She says it isn't her job to teach them right and wrong, it's there parents...personally I wish she was mature enough to realize by putting herself out there in the public eye, she is a role-model to the youth of america and like it or not she needs to to take responsibility of being a positive role-model. If she wants to dress the way she does and act the way she does I believe she should change her style of music so she isn't appealing to younger audiences.

They are just showing that we arent really united because we go around blaming everything bad that happens on someone just to get a sense of comfort. But if you are going to blame Britney then you have to blame everyone that dresses and acts like her: Christiana Aguilara, Shakira, and you could even say Janet Jackson and Madonna(which is retarded). The only person to blame is Osama Bin Laden, not Britney, b/c she was in no way responsible for the crashes at the pentagon or the Trade Centers. if you want, e-mail me at: Saree0617@cs.comIP: Logged |

I totally agree with everyone who said that even though they are not a huge Britney Spears fan, this should not have been done. She didn't cause the September 11 attacks. Stupid childish acts as demonstrated here are not going to stop the attacks or to some bring back the lost in the tragedy but it will only cause a bigger problem. And parents should be watching how their children act and dress. Just because they are influenced by people who have been given a celebrity status doesn't mean that their guardians have no say over anything they do. If Britney Spears was the worst role model out there we would be lucky. Unfortunately she isn't and there are worse role models for children to be following. So, just lay off Britney, she has done nothing to you.IP: Logged |

Let's face it. Britney Spears is the most famous, well-known, talked about, watched, etc. female performers in the world. I'm assuming that's the main reason why ppl are always ragging on her. Who's going to talk about some unknown artist wearing very little clothing? No one, 'cuz no one else cares. Practically everyone in this world who's had access to a TV, radio, magazine, etc. knows who Britney is. Personally, I'm not a Britney fan. Firstly she hasn't got much talent. Seriously, if she was BUTT UGLY, couldn't dance worth crap, and just stood on the stage trying to sing without all these skin bearing outfits, would you still "admire" her and buy her records? I HIGHLY doubt it. But the reality is that millions of girls and boys idolize her. She is like their leader. Boys & girls believe that that's how girls are supposed to act and what they're supposed to dress like. Britney is being totally irresponsible with her power. "I don't want to be a role model." Did she seriously believe she wouldn't be? If she did, man, she's not all there. Where would we be without role models? Where would she be without her role model Madonna? The thing is everybody is different. Some ppl would never copy anyone, others spend their whole lives trying to be others. Britney Spears is just a walking contradiction. I don't think that vandelism was really the answer, but it's not like ppl couldn't see it coming. If someone goes and shoplifts, chances are pretty high that they'll get caught. So Britney Spears isn't the total reason our society is pretty screwed up, but if she's not helping the cause then that leaves her on the other end of the fence, worsening it. Call it coincidence, but when Britney popped onto the scene, there were more 7-10 year olds wearing belly tops and tube tops than teenagers. And I have to agree w/ what other ppl said. Kids like to rebel. For many, parents/guardians/elders are most likely the last ppl you'd listen to. Whatever happened to freedom of speech? Isn't that what's so great about our world today? What's with all the name calling and bashing of others? I think we all just need to settle down. IP: Logged |

<<you've bought yourself some nice big breasts>>Which promptly deflated as soon as she lost weight? Yeah, right! When will this stupid boob-job rumor end? She gained weight when she injured her knee (at which point her boobs increased in size, along with the rest of her body). She has since lost the weight, and most of her boobs, as well--like any woman does, when weight is lost. Look at her most recent pictures, when she's wearing very low cut and revealing clothes--the girl's not nearly as busty as she was in the "Sometimes" video! Fake boobs DO NOT diminish in size over time!!! I'm no Britney fanatic, but she's hardly the embodiment of evil. The people who defaced the Britney posters prove that quite a few New Yorkers are as obnoxious after September 11th as they were before that date. Pretty sick when even a national tragedy can't stop these perverted individuals from hating a young girl who sings pop songs!

I do not like Britney Spears, and she does send out the wrong message to America's youth. But I do not agree with the grafitti that was placed on her posters. She is not the cause for September 11th. Although she does stand for problems faced in America: the main being materialism and media portrayl. As many other's have said, she says she is not meant to be a role model but yet she does place a huge negative image on young girls in America. But even through all these facts, I do not agree with the image that she sends, but what was done to her posters was immature, and irresponsible. IP: Logged |

Britney is doing what she loves to do: singing and dancing, and the way she dresses is just her style. Everyone has a unique style to define him or her self and wearing clothes that happen to expose a lot is just the way she wants to express herself. Just don't forget that she is not the only star that dresses like that. There have been some far worse outfits in the entertainment business. Also, she should be able to do what she wants to do without worrying about being a role model for younger kids. ITs not her responsibility to be teaching younger kids right from wrong.I mean look at Eminem. His ideas are absolutely terrible but his posters don't get defaced. Britney's lyrics are fine, there's nothing bad being portrayed in her songs and she deserves a ton of respect for having the guts to be herself with the whole world watching.IP: Logged |

Britney Spears is a complete idiot! And it is true, she is te very reason American teens are so corrupted! She is the one who hear, see, and talk about everyday and her actions have influened our thinking! I asked all my guy friends and they only reason they like her is because she is "hot" They didn't say anything about her singing. People just live to see America's sweetheat prance around the stage dressed like a slut and shaking her boobs and butt like a brainless moron. Wait, what am I saying, she IS a brainless moron! She doesn't know where Australia is! And she thinks Canada is over seas! Oh, one more, she thinks Elivis is from Vegas! How stupid and idiotic can one person be? If Britney Spears truly wants to show to the world how grown up she is and how the world should stop bothering her and let her do her own thing, then STOP ACTING LIKE A FREAKIN'WHORE! She begged her director to do a topless scene in her movie so she can show how adult she is! That just shows how immature she really is and how she is trying too hard to gain people's respect. Madonna is way more popular than her, but gasp! guess what?! Madonna is always fully dressed! Briteny will only destroy her reputation this way. People will never respect her as a music artist but as the girl who got boob job and started to dance like alslut on stage to get famous. Bottom line, I rave aboue the New York Poster Scandals. Britney shoudl go and take down those posters one by one herself and go home, tape them on her wall and do some srious thinking on what damage she has done to the impressionable young minds of America's youth. By the way, she can't sing. If everytime everyone got a dollar she got caught lip syncing at a concert, everyone would be rolling in gold right now. I hate her, I can't wait until the day when her back breaks from her boob job and she becomes even more butt ugly from all the chemical and make up she uses to cover up her already ugly face. (have you seen a picture of her without make up! took care of my nightmare for a year.) So anyway, I hoep America wakes up from this nightmare Britney trapped them in and see the tramp that she truly is. IP: Logged |

I'm 15 years of age and have no problem with Britney. If people trash her so much, how come her albums sold so fast? how come her concerts are sold out? I think this is pathetic. People who trash her and disrespect her are basically jealous, thats all it can come down to, jealousy. Especially the one poster that said "im fat, britneys skinny" said my 6-year old daughter. (it was something along the lines of that, sorry if not exact) thats pathetic! why is a 6 year old listening to music like that anyway? I dont see any wrong in it, I just remember that when I was 6, I had dolls to play with and I watched Elmo and Big Bird. I'm just trying to say to all you Britney Haters is to just look at yourself trash a beautiful girl. Britney is considered a more of a performer, okay if she was really singing in a concert, they would be the shittiest concerts, she dances the whole time she is on stage! If she sang she would be breathing so heavy you wouldnt be able to understand anything. And another thing! everyone trashes Britney Spears, does nobody notice how marilyn manson is? OKAY so what if britney got a boob job! at least shes actually a girl! marilyn manson got a boob job and he got a rib removed to suck on his dick! For trashing Britney like some people did on the streets, thats a little more worse then seeing her on television the way she really is. If you had a little girl and was walking to the subway or whatever and had your child see that. The Taliban shooting at her? they would be more devastated then you would think. IP: Logged |

I am 16 years old and a HUGE britney fan, and at times I do think that she can dress a little reavling, but thats once in a lifetime, I absolutly LOVE how she dresses!! but what about Christina, and Lil'Kim?? Why just attack Britney? I know why, because she is the top leading gal in the music business. She is in the public eye more than anyone else! She has the body and the looks, why shouldn't she show her belly?? Is that such a crime?? NO! Its not!! Britney has a camp which helps kinds go toward their dreams, she does charities to raise money for the less fortunate. Why just look at the so called "negatives" and look at the positive things she does. Everyone in their life will cuss, so don't act like it is a crime if someone does or if someone shows their stomach, big deal. a lot of girls show of their bodies WAY more that Britney. If I looked like her, I would do the same thing and I think if all of you out there complainging that she is a little bitch and slut because she can show off her body, you all would too! You would be so proud to look like her so I think all of you should just shut up and learn to deal with how our world is. Britney didn't cause anything that has happened in our worlds history lately and to blame the Sept 11 attacks on someone who after she heard of it called her boyfriend in TEARS. Yes, Britney was in tears when she heard about what happened. Maybe you all should take the time to see what good stuff she does, because I can tell you that her positives out-weigh her negatives by far! *Keep going Britney, you are great the way you are and anyone can't see that they have something wrong with them!! keep doing what you have been!!* ANYONE HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY TO ME?? I am not perfect. You are not perfect. No one is perfect, and i wish the "zombies" in charge of viacom, pepsi, etc. would just figure it out- they need to stop portraying Britney Spears (as well as a slew of others)as such. I wish, for Britney's sake (just because it's obvious she has no idea what she is doing) that she would make some sort of huge message to the world that she is in fact a normal human being... then stop acting on TV and in concert and in magazines and on billboards that she is some sort of sexual goddess. She needs to either give it all up and spread 'em for an X-rated magazine or movie, or be the person she says she is. I saw one of those defaced subway posters that said "HELTER SKELTER" let me tell you... if you don't already know... that is scary. If that was just some jackass teenager not knowing what that meant (which I doubt) then he/she should feel ashamed. I understand humor. This is going overboard. BUT I hope it was a jackass teenager rather than the latter... a crazed killer. so yeah i am kind of mad that some people would go overboard with their defamation but i am glad someone put together a site like this. It is good to know that i am not the only one who looks at Britney posters and things like that and is sort of saddened by the way our country can be sometimes. That's all i have to say.IP: Logged |

I am not very fond of Britney in my own personal opinion. I think she does send many mixed messages across America. I agree with both sides of this debate to a point. I believe that she is not the sole problem of media lies but I do believe she contribues to them. I also believe that it is highly possibly to be a good singer, make videos, have a fan club, and be famous without dressing and acting like a complete slut. Look at Mandy Moore and Jessica Andrews, for example. They are both pretty and they both actually wear clothes in their videos. You don't need to be half dressed to be famous. I believe that Britney is one of MANY that send a terribly depressing "barbie doll" image to girls across America and perhaps even across the world. The truth is, you do not have to be thin to be gorgeous, you don't have to have big boobs to be attractive, and you don't have to dress hoochy to get attention. Britney sends out opposite vibes of this truth and I think it has a negative effect on preteen and teenage girls. But we can't blame everything one person, that's taking the easy way out. If we feel strongly enough about these issues, we should boycott or protest EVERY singer/actor/actress who give out this negative view, not just one girl. Thanks for reading. IP: Logged |

WHY must all the britney "haters" be labeled jealous? that is just so old and cliché that it is almost pathetic. i am not jealous of a “perfect” image because what counts is what’s ticking inside. what if some of us, like myself, don't find it attractive to dress the way britney does? what if i am absolutely comfortable with myself and do not want to change a thing? what if i DO have the "perfect" body but don't feel the need nor comfortable putting my body out there to be gawked at? what if my opinion just simply differs from your own? i’m sorry, but you need to pick another argument. i've seen that a select handful of britney fans-- mostly those who have a grammar or spelling impediment, are extremely irritating. they are just so infatuated with the image she sends forth that when someone disagrees with their opinion, they feel the need to "give that person a piece of their mind” and “stand up for what they believe in” and present us with a full fledged argument about how i am so jealous about just how sexy britney truly is. Ok...enough already! Britney is a gorgeous young woman, who has done nothing to anybody..accept give them what a normal person would want from a singer/actress. She's hot and no im not gay. I just got her newest cd for christmas, and its awesome. Its been a week and ive got all the songs memorized practically. She has nothing to do with the September 11 th attack on the WTC. She is just like another young singer. Yeah, she might be the "pop princess", but she still shouldnt be blamed for anything. She can not also be blamed for young kids actions. The parents shouldnt let their kids watch it or listen to it then. The posters that i saw shocked me. I didnt know people could be so harsh and rude to the city that has been trough so much since September;it shouldnt be taken out on her. Brit i am one of your # 1 fans and keep up the good work. ~Amanda~ IP: Logged |

Hey! I think this shows the real problem in America. Britney Spears is not the problem! It seems to me that everyone is jealous of her or they don't want to give her credit for her great ability of singing and dancing. She may not be a good role model for everyone but in my opinion she is a great role model. I like her alot! She doesn't worry about what others think of herand thats the way to be! Live your own life and don't live it to impress others. Well now that I have said what I want to say I feel better! Thnx! :eek:IP: Logged |

To witness the kind of psychological vulnerability that teenage girls display in their affections for BRIT, look at all the gloriously inane comments on this message board in which the defendant ends her exercise-in-spelling-errors with an infatuated, "Britney, Keep up the good work. Blah blah blah. I'm your #1 fan." It's as if said fanatic actually believes Britney is present and thus feels a need to show the true colours of her devotion.Way to go, girls, for representing your pop princess so well. I love you too. Buy my new CD. IP: Logged |

I personally do not like Britney Spears. She saying that she is a damn virgin, the bitch is a lie. I think that her and Justin are having sex, if they live together than they are doing something. And she walks around with her little skimpy clothes and her 2 dollar breast thinking she's the baddest bitch. And she can't even sing, my mom even says she can't sing. I think Justin is a fool, he doesn't even care what she wears. He is so damn stupid, he needs to ge a life too.IP: Logged |

I'm not a Britney fan at ALL, but I think that it was pretty inappropriate of the people responsible to blame America's problems on Britney...she doesn't have that much power to control our country like that. This problem already existed before she was even born.IP: Logged |

I can't stand many of the responses people gave to those pictures. NO, I'm not a Britney fan, I don't care for her voice or most of her songs, and I'm not a fan of her newest dance moves, if they can be called "dance" moves (though I loved the "Crazy" video). However, I think those people who feel that she's a poor role model, or a dirty whore, etc, and thus deserves those degrading drawings on her posters, are dim-witted and low-class. That's not even the point! Britney is not in the public eye to be a role model or beauty queen, she's a SINGER, she's a "pop star" because she SINGS! She dances because we expect a pop star to dance, she dresses in skin-baring clothes because that's what people want to see, and she feels comfortable dressing that way (if I had her body, I might too). Her clothing and mannerisms and songs do not make her a whore, they don't indicate she sleeps around. There's nothing wrong with dressing however you want, those clothes she wears are just like costumes, costumes any dancer or actor or other performer could wear on stage. Comparing her to Hitler, or bin Laden is cruel, and such comparisons are not legitimate. AND, they're JUST drawings, so who cares? Ignore them! They're just a few people expressing their opinions in a showy way. But, to those who drew them, and those who feel she deserves such defacings, I say this: Have you ever opened your mind in your life? Think for yourself for once, Britney is just a girl making her way in life doing something she loves- singing! If parents can't teach their kids to think for themselves, if parents can't act as role models themselves, then WHAT do they expect, but for their children to find someone else to admire. And if those children choose to respect Britney Spears, because they think she's "pretty" or "sweet" or "responsible," then that's what they'll do. Children need someone to look up to, and if they don't find one in their parents or some other truly responsible adult, they'll seek one else where. So get a grip on reality people!!! Britney isn't causing ANYTHING, it starts at home, and if you can't accept that, then perhaps you should all go take a class on parenting and hear this all from an experienced teacher, rather than an irate 18 year old like ME!!!
